Forest Bathing Nature Therapy

Forest Bathing- Nature Therapy at the Art Sanctuary

A guided yoga walk and sensory immersion on sacred ground

Forest bathing, or Shinrin-yoku, is the practice of consciously spending time in nature to restore balance to the body, mind, and nervous system. At the Art Sanctuary, this experience takes the form of a slow, guided yoga walk through the sanctuary grounds; an intentional journey that honours the land, its ancient trees, and places of long-held cultural significance.

This is not a hike or exercise class. It is a gentle, reverent immersion into the living landscape, guided with presence and care.

The Experience

Each session unfolds as a slow walking meditation, pausing at key locations across the Art Sanctuary.

You’ll be guided through:

  • A grounding arrival and land acknowledgement, inviting respect and awareness of place

  • Gentle breathwork and embodied movement woven into a yoga walk

  • Sensory invitations that deepen connection to the forest environment

  • Moments of stillness beneath ancient trees

  • Quiet reflection near areas of indigenous significance, held with care and respect

  • A closing integration circle and tea ceremony to ground the experience

The pace is unhurried, allowing time to listen, feel, and attune to the rhythms of the land.

Benefits of Forest Bathing

Time spent in nature and mindful movement can:

  • Calm the nervous system and reduce stress

  • Support emotional balance and mental clarity

  • Encourage embodied presence and gentle mobility

  • Deepen connection to nature, culture, and community

  • Reawaken creativity and intuitive awareness

Participants often leave feeling centred, softened, and quietly restored.

Who It’s For
