Exhibition at the Art Sanctuary

The Art Sanctuary invites artists to submit an Expression of Interest for our upcoming exhibition - Expressions of the Divine Feminine.

At the Art Sanctuary, we believe that art has the capacity to inspire reflection, awaken connection and create meaningful experiences for both artist and audience.

This exhibition invites artists to explore the many ways the Divine Feminine is experienced, embodied and expressed through works that are personal, cultural, spiritual, symbolic, or deeply rooted in lived experience.

At the Art Sanctuary, we see creativity as a living practice. Through artistic practice, inspiration and dedication to craft, artists create works that have the capacity to inspire reflection, awaken connection and create meaningful experiences for those who encounter them.

  • We welcome artists to respond to the theme in ways that feel authentic to their own perspective, journey and creative voice.

  • We welcome submissions from artists working across all mediums, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, photography, installation, mixed media, sound and performance.

A small number of exhibiting artists will also be invited to participate in our Artist-in-Residence program. Set amongst the natural beauty of the Perth Hills, the residency offers the opportunity to create work on-site throughout the exhibition, engage with visitors through open studio experiences, and draw inspiration from the Art Sanctuary’s unique environment, including its creative spaces, natural amphitheatre and goshala.

Expressions of the Divine Feminine is an invitation to contribute to a shared exploration of creativity, community and the many ways the feminine can be experienced, embodied and expressed. It is an opportunity to be part of a space where art, nature and human connection come together to inspire reflection, renewal and deeper understanding.

  • Artist bio (200 words max)

  • Artwork statement

  • Artwork dimensions

  • Images (up to 3 images)

  • Finalists announced: 22 September 2026

  • Delivery of artworks to the Art Sanctuary: 1st November 2026

  • Exhibition dates: 7th to 22nd November 2026

  • Artist in residency opportunities between: 7th -16th November (Armadale Hills Art Trail)

  • Collection of unsold artworks: 23rd November 2026

Expressions of Interest – Exhibition Terms & Conditions

By submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI), you agree to the following terms:

Eligibility

  • Artists of all experience levels are welcome to apply.

  • Entries are open to all artistic mediums.

Submissions

  • Artists may submit up to three (3) artworks for consideration.

  • Each artwork must be submitted as a separate EOI form.

  • A non-refundable administration fee of $30 AUD applies to each submission and covers processing and assessment costs.

Key Dates

  • EOI submissions close 22 August 2026.

  • Late submissions will not be accepted.

  • Successful applicants will be notified via email by 22 September 2026.

Selection Process

  • Submission of an EOI does not guarantee selection.

  • Art Sanctuary will curate the exhibition taking into consideration alignment with the exhibition theme, artistic quality and craftsmanship, authenticity of artistic practice, diversity of works, available exhibition space, and the potential of the work to create meaningful audience experiences.

  • The selection panel's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

Exhibition Requirements

  • All selected artworks must be available for the full exhibition period.

  • All exhibited works must be offered for sale.

  • The Art Sanctuary will retain a 30% commission on all artwork sales made during the exhibition.

  • Artists are responsible for ensuring all submitted information, pricing and artwork details are accurate.

Artist in Residence Opportunities

  • A select number of exhibiting artists will be invited to participate in the Art Sanctuary's Artist in Residence Program during the exhibition.

  • Residency invitations will be based on alignment with the exhibition and residency objectives.

  • Resident artists will have the opportunity to:

    • Create work on-site throughout the exhibition.

    • Engage with visitors through open studio sessions and artist talks.

    • Participate in professional development workshops and masterclasses.

    • Connect with fellow artists and the broader Art Sanctuary community.

Participation in the residency is by invitation only and is separate from exhibition selection.

Image & Promotional Use

  • By submitting an EOI, artists grant the Art Sanctuary permission to use submitted images and artwork details for exhibition promotion, marketing, media and archival purposes. Copyright remains with the artist.

Artwork Care

  • While every reasonable care will be taken in handling and displaying artworks, the Art Sanctuary accepts no responsibility for loss or damage beyond its legal obligations. Artists are responsible for arranging their own insurance if required.
